ขาด

v. 1. to be lacking, be missing (from);

2. to be broken, separated, severed (from); 3. to finish, to be final, to be cut off; sv. 4. off, completely, absolutely.

ขาดกลาง- to be broken or cut off in the middle (as of a story);

ขาดแคลน- to be impoverished (as without food or funds); ขาดความ- unintellible, lacking meaning; ขาดคราว, ขาดตลาด- to have none in the market, being out of stock; ขาดลอย- to break away from the moorings (as a boat), to float away (as a kite), to be unrecoverable (as stolen goods or escaped convicts); ขาดทุน- to suffer loss in a transaction, the capital is cut into; ยังไม่ขาดคำ- to stop before the speaker has finished speaking; ผัวเมียขาดกัน- a condition of divorce.
